In the past few years, we’ve seen drastic changes in many aspects of our lives, especially in how we work. One example is how we communicate, which has improved immensely. Still, days where meetings are held via apps like Zoom and Microsoft Teams are still evolving, and companies continue to introduce new landscapes to delve into. One such company is Holoconnects, which is taking another leap with Holobox, the portable hologram.

Immersive communications with holograms
Holobox is a plug-and-play portable hologram that is available in two variations: the 86″ high Holobox and the 22″ Holobox Mini. The main difference between the two is the size. Both variations aim to help users have a more engaging interaction with the person presenting. By projecting the speaker’s image, viewers would get a more personal experience. Since it projects the whole body of the person, users would be able to get more context on what is being said since they can see the body language of the other person.
Content for the Holobox and Holobox Mini is recorded in one of Holoconnects’ studios with the help of a white screen, studio lights, and a video camera. Since it’s a plug-and-play device, users will only need basic tech knowledge to operate it properly. It also comes with a flight case, providing ease of transport. The device is also equipped with anti-glare glass to minimize reflection.

Pricing and rental
Available in black and white, the Holobox and Holobox Mini are priced at €39,000 and €6,500 respectively. This amount is exclusive of warranty. Other optional add-ons, such as video conferencing hardware, network access, and software license fees, are sold separately.
There’s also an option to rent the Holobox, starting at €2,500 a day to €9,000 for two weeks. They also offer employee support and assistance at a separate price ranging from €950 to €13,300, depending on the number of days availed. This could be helpful in a corporate setting, such as during annual conferences or presenting new products. Holoconnects’ Holobox opens the possibility of making holographic communication widely available.
