When I first saw MOTION ZERO, I initially thought it was an art piece because it was so alluring. It looked like it belonged on a tabletop or shelf. The product’s tagline “It’s not just beautiful” intrigued me, so I had to find out what made the product so. Apparently, the product aims to increase the number of individuals who experience the value of meditation. It was made to make entering the meditative state simpler and faster. The product gives the user a visual stimulus, aiding them in their transition into meditation.

The makers made it clear that you don’t need to buy MOTION ZERO to enter into a meditative state. In fact, they ask us to meditate right now without any aids. But that’s where the dilemma comes in; not everyone can enter or stay in meditation without anything to help them focus. Again, it was made to make meditation more effective and efficient, but you do not need it to meditate.

MOTION ZERO is a metal egg accompanied by three metal balls placed on an aluminum block. You place the egg in the center and watch it spin as it takes control of gravity and spin on its own. The metal balls are your sliders to adjust frequency and intensity. You can even choose for it to spin forever if you want to.

What mesmerized me more about the product was the intent behind the construction of MOTION ZERO. All materials of it were built to last. Even if you eventually discard it, the product will be repurposed to create other materials, making it recyclable. About 91% of the weight is made up of aluminum, which can be recycled extremely well. This also saves 95% of the energy required to produce new aluminum. Since they are mostly constructed of glass and steel, other components are equally simple to recycle.
Currently, MOTION ZERO is quite successful in its Kickstarter campaign, garnering 10 times their targeted pledge. It has also gained several positive comments from beta testers. If you like what the product promises, I’d say give it a shot. The campaign ends in November so, you can still get your early bird discount for the product, starting at $99. It’s also estimated to ship in April 2024.
