Designing and creating beautiful, custom-made graphics for your business or personal needs can sometimes require hiring a design professional to do it for you. Or if you really want to do all the legwork yourself, you’d have to pay a hefty price for an online tool. But what if there was an entirely free solution that lets you do all that?
Canva’s free features
The answer might be Canva, one of the most popular graphics designing tools on the internet. This Australian company has both free and premium options, with the free option offering quite a lot.
Canva lets you choose from 8,000+ free pre-designed templates for every occasion and allows you to organize your designs into two folders. Need invitations for your wedding? Done. Need posters and tickers for your concert? Banners for your website? A cover for your book? You got it. And you don’t even need to be an expert. You can also choose to start from scratch and fully customize your design.
The simple drag-and-drop solution allows you to select a layout from the free options at your disposal. Just choose the layout by clicking on it and selecting the text elements for your own details. You can reposition, resize or recolor the text, as well as change its font or spacing.
Want to share your design with others? Canva’s got you covered with its Facebook and Twitter integrations. When you’re done, you can download your design in a JPG, PNG, or PDF format.
You can use Canva’s huge collection consisting of millions of photos, starting at $1 each, or upload your own as long as they’re not larger than 50 MB. The free option allows you to upload and manage 1 GB of storage for your photos and assets.
Canva Pro comes with everything and more
The paid Canva Pro subscription, which costs $12.95 monthly, includes everything the free version offers and more. It has unlimited folders for your designs, team functionalities, unlimited storage for photos and assets. Canva even offers a solution for teams with over 30 members called Canva Enterprise.
You’ll have exclusive access to 400,000 free photos, illustrations, and templates, design resizing options, and color palette settings all for your brand. You’ll also be able to save templates for you and your team, upload custom fonts, download designs with transparent backgrounds, animated GIFs, and have priority support.
Why am I talking about the pro version? Because it’s accompanied by a 30-day free trial, during which you can test out all these features by yourself. Plus, if you opt for the annual payment instead of monthly, you’d be paying $9.95. Even without Canva Pro, Canva still offers a lot of options that can help you and your brand or your personal project become everything you want it to be.
