Nanoleaf is a green technology company that focuses on maximizing energy efficiency in lighting products.
Looking to take your career to the next level and be exposed to an insanely wide range of design mediums to make your personal playground. You’ve got raw talent, and a hunger to grow as a designer alongside a talented group that wants to make a difference for people and planet.
A globally-engaged, venture-backed product company with 40 people spread across Toronto, Hong Kong, and Shenzhen, China. We design better smart lighting solutions for a connected planet, and we put the needs of customers at the center of our design process.
You @ Nanoleaf
There won’t be a typical day at Nanoleaf. One day, you might be working closely with our Creative Director on the design of a retail display—both the artwork and the industrial design. The next, you might be creating assets for a product launch video or landing page. The next, you might be working with our MarkOps Lead on a multi-channel marketing automation or EDM campaign. You might also be helping to iterate layouts for print creative or polishing product packaging. One thing’s certain—if you’ve got a hunger to learn and grow, you’ll find plenty of food at Nanoleaf. We’re a #FullHustle kind of culture, we prize designing in-house and we celebrate our accomplishments. If you want to be proud of the work that you’re a part of, you’ll want to be a part of this journey.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
A strong drive to learn, grow, and support your team. Ideally, you’re a recent graduate of a post-secondary design program or have a year or two of experience as a practicing design professional. You have an exceptional command of fundamental design skills like balance and composition, and understand how they apply to a wide range of mediums. You love working collaboratively, practice design thinking, and believe that great design is truly an iterative adventure (we’re an Agile design environment)
You’ve Done This Before
Content creation (both vector and raster images). Created icons and simple line art, edited photographs (or worked with 3D modeling assets), and created layouts for print and digital mediums. Taken product or object photographs and/or shot video with a single-rail DSLR approach. You’re keen on photography and videography, and know your way around a DSLR (we shoot with the Canon EOS system). Bonus points if you have experience in UX design, UI rapid prototyping, or web design (hand-coding without using Muse or Dreamweaver as a crutch).
