You Can Support Freedom of Expression Today with #artforpeace

-

Stockholm, Sweden, September 1 — Nina Wickman, multidisciplinary designer, mentor, and teacher works together with PEN America and PEN Sweden on a project to support freedom of expression and human rights.artforpeace teach peace human rights tshirt pen america sweden nina wickman

They came up with a design that unites the words “teach” and “peace” in an elegant logo. From the 1st to the 22nd of September 2017 you can order a limited edition t-shirt or long-sleeve shirt to increase awareness about the #artforpeace project and contribute to the PEN organization in the US and Sweden to support a global campaign for human rights.

Any ordered items are shipped worldwide, starting on the 9th of October 2017. There are only 500 items available.

Why is this important?

This is an important cause. Without the rights to express freely, we could not bring you this news and no other article ever. No independent news organization in this world can exist without laws that ensure they can write news as they happen with facts rather than being controlled by companies or governments and getting told what the media has to write or censors them in a way.

Nina Wickman Crop

On the project video’s page, Nina Wickman writes, “We who create in different ways throughout the world struggle every day for our human rights, the ability to have freedom of expression. A global fight on being controlled in different ways. We are many that want to support, contribute and be a part of the family who fights for freedom of expression in our different ways of creating our works.”

How you can support the project

You can support the campaign by:

  1. Purchasing the t-shirt or the long sleeve shirt at Represent.com
  2. Follow @PENamerica, @PENsweden, @wickman_, on Twitter
  3. Spread the word on social media with the hashtag #artforpeace

Thank you for considering!
