The British company Umbrellium designs and builds solutions to help city inhabitants to get around faster and safer. On their website they declare, “we want to collaborate on building engaging cities (rather than ‘smart’ cities) that put people’s needs first”.
Their Starling (STigmergic Adaptive Responsive LearnING ) Crossing project and their conceptual demo video is pointing the smart city development into an interesting direction and it looks like AR is going to be one of the key technologies needed to build such as responsive road solution, next to 5G, sensor tech, and other IoT components.
